Consistently Worth It!!

We had algebra II lessons with Lillian almost weekly for the entire spring term 2021, and it was a fantastic investment. Lillian was professional, punctual, responsive when we needed to reschedule, didn’t run over/over charge for lessons, and tailored lessons to the student’s needs. Sometimes we needed help understanding basic concepts, other times it was all about getting through the homework, and sometimes Lillian made up problems to help drill concepts. Always chill and laid back, Lillian never stressed out our student and never made our student feel bad for not understanding. Our student went from failing to a B in the class and Lillian definitely contributed to that.

Patient and Relaxed

We’ve had some tutors that put a lot of pressure on our student to progress and remember what was taught from week to week. Our student is pretty erratic- some weeks she’s on top of it and some weeks she doesn’t ’know’ anything. But pressure and frustration from the tutor doesn’t help anything! Lillian is fantastic at meeting the student where she is at that lesson, and getting through the material from wherever that is. A hallmark of a great teacher!

Amazing Tutor!

When school was out we switched over from math class help to SAT study. Lillian knows all the strategies to help eliminate answers and make really good guesses for the times you don’t know how to solve the problem. She also teaches how to eliminate answers that don’t make sense so you can work faster. Back to math class, our student has aced math topics in previous years thanks to Lillian and other tutors, but refuses to go back and look at the old notes. I don’t want to pay for Lillian to teach the same things again and again. If my student was truly struggling I would, but my student would rather ask Lillian three times than review her own notes where she previously got As and Bs. So we’re taking a break for a student growth opportunity, but we might be back! Lillian is amazing!
