I truly believe that all students should have fun and enjoy learning, no matter the subject. For many, it is just a matter of trying out different learning styles and techniques until one works. There are so many different ways to learn a subject- books, videos, games, worksheets, etc. I'm interested in helping students figure out how they learn best and empower them with the skills they need to be successful in their learning adventures.

Professionally, I possess a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in anthropology and American Indian studies. I have 15+ years working in the nonprofit sector and have taught business professionals diversity, disability, time management, technical writing, nonprofit management, and other business-related topics. Personally, I have three children with disabilities. I home-school the older two children, one is 13 years old and the other 10 years old. I teach them all core subjects, as well as, home economics and life skills. In order to meet their academic needs I have had to really think outside of the box and try a wide variety of learning techniques. That willingness to try different styles and work with students to really ensure that they are learning the way that is best for them is what I think sets me apart as a tutor.
For K-5th grade curriculum, I offer tutoring in all subjects. For 6th-8th grade I offering tutoring in language arts, science, social studies, and art. For 9th-12th grade I offering tutoring in language arts, social studies, business, and art. For all ages I offer study skills, home economics, and life skills lessons. If there is a topic that you are interested in receiving tutoring, and it isn't listed, I encourage you to ask as I might be more than willing to teach that subject.
I possess extensive experience working with youth who have special needs. I currently home-school two children with disabilities. I have experience working with youth that have: Autism, Aspergers, dyspraxia, phonological disorder, anxiety, sensory processing disor
