I have a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts with Certification as Instructional Leader, K-12 Spanish, Endorsements in Bilingual, TESOL and Visual Arts. I have 18 years teaching experience.

I was born and raised in Mexico and came to the United States at the age of 19. I have experience as a translator for several universities while residing in Texas and later in Florida. Most recently, I was teaching a Conversational Spanish course to adults. I also taught a Summer Spanish course for FGCU's C.R.O.P. (Community Reach Out Program) for at-risk and underprivileged middle school age kids. For six years, I taught Spanish at Canterbury School in Fort Myers teaching various grade levels throughout elementary and middle school. I also do some translating on the side.

I tutor a variety of subjects, but I invite you to acquire everyday conversation skills in an easy and fun way! Learn to communicate, read and write in Spanish in a fun way by adding student interaction with a Spanish computer program, music, and lyrics to the traditional textbook method. I want to make your Spanish lessons meaningful to you by adapting your lessons to your everyday needs. Classes are available individually or in group sessions with a limit of 10 students per session.

Microsoft Windows can be as helpful and gratifying for the home user as it can be for the professional IT user. As it is used to create and share professional-looking documents thanks to the easy-to-use variety of writing tools and graphics that come with the program. There are many benefits on using Microsoft Windows: One of the advantages is that it works with most kinds of software and hardware. One can create, edit, view, save, and print electronic documents with ease. The latest version is Microsoft Word 2007. I am very familiar with Microsoft Windows as I have used it since 1995 when they came out, back then, with the version called Windows 95.

I can teach both content and the English language. I intend to provide the ESL (English as a Second Language) student or ESOL (English for Students of Other Languages) with multiple opportunities to practice activities and connect their learning to their personal and cultural experiences. I modify my instruction to engage ESL/ESOL students with various strategies that include the following: Visual and tactile activities that provide adequate repetition and practice of new vocabulary words and concepts. Reading comprehension strategies that should be taught to ESOL in all grade levels. Homework and assessments will be appropriate for the individual stages of English language acquisition.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

In one hour, Marcela answered my many questions and helped me figure out things I have struggled to understand on my own for six months. Can’t wait for more lessons.

Awesome!

I was in my college semester of Spanish and I needed help! I had no clue what to do at all and Marcela helped me passed the course. She was extremely flexible with her time schedule and was willing to help any way possible. She was an awesome tutor whom I would recommend to anyone.

Will Build Confidence

Marcela is energetic, knowledgeable, and flexible. She is very accommodating. She made my teen very comfortable with conversational Spanish. My daughter is shy, but Marcela really brought her out and made her feel like a confident speaker.

Marcela is a wonderful Spanish Teacher

Marcela has been very helpful to our daughters' understanding of Spanish. Not only is it her native tongue, but she teaches it at Canterbury. Her teaching experience really shows in her ability to communicate difficult grammar concepts and vocabulary. She always punctual and we love that she comes to the house.
