This tutor has knowledge of several subjects and experience working with students of all ages, including children, teenagers, and adults. I have taught ESL, Bible, Algebra, and Algebra II. I've tutored for the Arithmetic Reasoning / Math Knowledge / Word Knowledge sections of the ASVAB military entrance exam. My university degrees are in Physics, Theology, and Semiotics, but I also have a certificate of Christian Education from the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

Teaching is at the core of who I am. Knowledge is meant to be shared, and there's nothing like helping someone master a new concept or skill. I use a variety of methods to help students with various learning styles. I want you to succeed and I believe in you! Mastering any subject takes work, and I will work with you to help you achieve your goals.

Algebra is an easy walk in the park for me. If it's not easy for you, that's OK. I can help! A few years ago I taught an Algebra II class for homeschool students. They appreciated the fact I explained concepts in a way that was easy to follow and that I patiently and thoroughly answered their questions.

I've been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for adults for since 2012. One of my ESL students told me she was taking English classes at her community center every day in addition to attending my once-a-week class. She claims she learns more in 1 1/2 hours with me once a week than she does from 15 hours a week in her other class. Several of my students tell me that I explain things very well.

If you struggle with tests, or if you just want to do a little better, I will coach you on test-taking strategies. I have some strategies specifically for the ASVAB. If you are studying for the ASVAB, I will share these strategies with you. I will also review with you important concepts you may have missed from high school that will show up on the ASVAB.

You can do this. Contact me so I can meet with you and be your guide on the path to success.

Great tutor

Joanna has been tutoring my niece for her ASVAB testing which she has trouble with her math and problem solving. My niece has stated that she has improved her math skills and Joanna is very good and patient at helping her understand and solve problems. She feels more confident in this area.

Best money ever spent ~

Joanna was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. She was able to look at Kylie’s work and walk her through so that she could see where she was missing a step in her work. She is so good she was able to look at the work upside-down and explain it. I have a different child!
