Dear Students,

I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. Following my undergraduate program I was assessed and licensed by the state of Vermont to teach 7th-12th graders Mathematics. Also while in my undergraduate I worked as a mentor and tutor for adults with disabilities in college level classes. This experience along with tutoring middle and high school students through an after school program confirmed my desire to teach. I returned to the University of Vermont to receive a Master’s degree in 2020 for Special Education graduating with a GPA of 3.9. While gaining my degree I worked as a public school Behavioral Interventionist 1:1 with high school students. I was again assessed and licensed by the state of Vermont to teach Special Education. I worked for three years as a public school Special Educator for 7th and 8th graders with a variety of learning needs and disabilities. During this time my role was a case manager, service provider, and educator in math, literacy, and behavior intervention. Through these differing roles I am confident Middle/High School students.

I will bring a student centered approach while working with learners, I am a responsive listener, and am adaptive to the learners needs. Getting to know the learning needs is my priority in my approach to teaching students. I have come to learn that students struggle with motivation when they don’t experience moments of growth. My approach to tutoring highlights to students small moments of growth and motivates further learning. Pre-Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra are my specialties but I also have experience tutoring higher and lower level mathematics. I also have practice in teaching reading and writing frameworks.
