Probability was something that always interested me. I am a very visual person, and I like to feel and see my probabilities; for doing the certification test without pencil and paper, I am amazed that I scored so well. I aim to help people understand probabilities in such a way that they can understand and feel probabilities the same way that I do.

My 13 year old son has been working with Katie for a little over a month now and we couldn't be happier! He was actually required to get 12 hours of tutoring, but now that he's got his hours in he actually asked if he could keep working with her. She's very sweet, patient, flexible and overall just great with kids. They've primarily worked on math so far and he's shown great improvement. My first session with Kathryn was encouraging. I am taking the GRE in August and need a great deal of review for preparation. Kathryn will be able to help me with all the math that is in the GRE, because I have the study guides and we looked at the problems. I am very happy she will be the one to help, since I am a mature student and need a patient person who will not assume I am understanding something. Thank you WyzAnt for providing good tutors and such a valuable service! ***UPDATE*** Four Sessions Later: Continuing on every week is really helping me gain confidence. The GRE is important and I will be much better prepared by the time my next test date is in August. Weekly meetings definitely help, rather than trying to cram everything in at the last minute! Twelve Sessions Later: The consistency is really helping me stay focused. I am much more confident going into the GRE this time, than last year.

Kathryn came prepared to work with Mariah in biology, however schools are preparing for AIMS testing. Their time was used to review chapters 1-4 in biology. This was helpful for Mariah to obtain an improved understanding of biology subject areas. This is Mariah's first tutorial experience and she said it was very helpful for her. Kathryn has an upbeat attitude which helped Mariah maintain a good level of interest and attention.

Katie is a wonderful tutor!! I would highly recommend her to anyone. She tutored my son in algebra his freshman year and is now tutoring him in geometry. His grades have improved tremendously, not just in algebra/geometry but also in other subjects as well. We are talking barely passing to B's! She has taught him organizational skills and study strategies that really help him. She understands everyone learns differently and works very hard to find what works best for the student and connect with them. My son has ADD and has always struggled in school. We have used many different tutors over the years but Katie is by far the best tutor we have ever had. I have been amazed at how far my son has come with her help. Awesome tutor!
