I have been teaching ESL, TOEFL and Cambridge Proficiency for almost 30 years, both in the US and abroad. I taught in central Italy from 1985 to 2005. She's very thorough and moves at my pace, not her own. I've had approx 7 lessons with Janet. I have not learned to really say anything yet AND I feel great about it because I finally feel like I'm really understanding the concepts and building the knowledge base I'll need to speak, read, write, and understand it when it's time. I've done conversational Italian before via college large classes x3, text books independently, handbooks/pocket books, YouTube, and tutorials - nothing worked. With her, I feel like I'm getting it, and she provides the perfect amount of encouragement and positive feedback to keep me motivated when I start to worry i'm not doing well. She is also VERY good at correcting my pronunciation or errors when needed (I WANT her to do that). She's great.
