Tina has helped my son improve a full grade in High School Spanish 2. Tina is patient and has helped in pronunciation, reading, and writing. My son enjoys the tutoring sessions and his Spanish has improved a lot. I highly recommend Tina as a Spanish tutor.

Vic N. from Saratoga, CA

I rarely write online reviews, positive or negative, but Tina deserves one. She is very conscientious. It is too early to comment on whether she has made a difference to the academic performance of my kids, but we will find out very soon. Thanks, Tina.

Geetha S. from Fremont, CA

Thank you for the great lessons. I hope we will finally get the new book by next week. Sorry for the delay. Thank you and hasta luego!

Nozomi M. from San Mateo, CA

Tina tells my daughter how to read English patiently in her every lessons. I and my husband are appreciative for her. We look forward to meeting you in the future.

From the moment I first spoke with Tina, I knew she was the best tutor for my little brother. My little brother struggled with reading comprehension and math and he did not have much confidence in his studies, Tina helped change all of that. Tina is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet and her kindness and genuine care in my brother's success, and I'm sure in all her other students is what makes her extra special. She is just wonderful and we all trust her very much. Tina understands that each child learns differently and she has the patience to find out what way that is, and then nurture it to help that student succeed. One of my favorite memories of her session with my brother is when Tina was trying to help my brother learn a concept in math and he was not getting it. Tina kept trying different ways and the entire time her calm demeanor never changed; and though my brother was struggling for a while to grasp the idea, when he finally did and something clicked, there was this huge sparkle in his eyes. It was like the brightest light bulb just went off and he was so proud. Tina never gave up and she kept trying different ways until one of them finally worked. My shy brother who is usually afraid to say an answer, in case it is the wrong one was not afraid to try and keep trying until finally he got it. She instilled confidence in him to TRY and not worry about falling, but to get back up and try again. She is so encouraging that it makes trying, for my brother, so much easier and he does not feel bad about not understanding. Tina is very talented in her approach to learning because not only is she very smart herself, but she is also able to break down complicated concepts into a language that will make sense to each of her students, in my case, the language of a fifth grade boy. He has learned so much from Tina, especially little tricks and good habits that teachers do not have time to focus on in the classroom. My brother's teachers have noticed a huge difference in his schoolwork and learning skills and I attribute it all to Tina. He is so much more confident in the classroom and is able to do his homework now with very little help from me. Tina is great and I cannot say enough good things about her, our family is so lucky to have her and so is anyone else that chooses to have Tina work with their child.

My son had trouble with Spanish -II and we (parents) have no clue about this language. He used to work a lot and tried to find online help as he can from many different websites. His scores slipped in the first term. At that time, I happen to find Tina through WyzAnt and requested her help. She worked with my son to understand his requirements (or issues) and developed a good tutoring plan. She never missed a session and very accommodating for last minute changes in the schedule too. Best of all, Tina gave him the confidence needed and brought him back from the frustration mode. At the end of second term my son was able to achieve "A" grade. I sincerely believe, Tina has a lot to do with my son's success.

Tina has been working with my 7 years old son for almost a year. The tutoring sessions focused on his reading, writing and math skills. Tina is a wonderful teacher and a lovely person. She is flexible, patience, compassionate, supportive and creative. Tina could easily identify my child strengths and knew exactly how to motivate and encourage him. My son likes her very much and he has progressed academically a great deal throughout the school year.

Lisa P. from Santa Clara, CA

We've had a number of tutors over the years for various subjects for our son who is entering his Junior year of High School, and Tina is by far the most reliable and effective one we've ever had. She helped him raise his grade from a C- to a B+ in Spanish II this last semester and secured him a spot in Spanish III next year, which was in question due to his previously low marks. She was reliable and consistent and never missed a session, and she was quick to respond to communications from us. Most importantly, my son said he felt very comfortable with her and said she made learning the material fun and easy, which was a big change for him considering Spanish is his least favorite subject. We're so glad we found Tina and look forward to working with her again this coming school year!

Sudhir P. from San Mateo, CA

Tina is very easy to talk to and she takes initiative to understand the situation the student is in and accordingly adjust the coaching the get the best results.

Wajiha A. from Newark, CA

Tina has been teaching my kids for 6 months and she has helped them in developing good studying habits and was very informative in all academic areas. She has used creative strategies to engage my kids!

Miki B. from Sunnyvale, CA

Tina has been working with my 8 year old twins this year, and has done an excellent job with their math, reading and writing skills. Their grades have gone up by more than a whole grade level! Tina is patient, resourceful and intelligent and has an understanding of what the kids need. She is able to engage them and keep them interested the entire hour, and, in addition to supporting their school needs, she brings with her her own understanding and insights into whatever she teaches. She is flexible and is always happy to do whatever is required at the time in order to help them with schoolwork / homework / learning for a test. My children were opposed to having a tutor at first, but with Tina they have been happy to work with her every week and have learned a lot from her. Thank you, Tina, for a fruitful and successful tutoring year!

I contracted this tutor for my 8 year old daughter for help with her Math related work. The tutor was here for 5 lessons in total, and unfortunately decided to drop my daughter as a student due to a conversation we had over the phone. During our last lessons she spend nearly half the lesson speaking to me about her progress and how she could improve, and only spent around 20 minutes with my daughter, a very unprofessional decision. Because of this encounter I decided to give her a rating of 3 stars due to her wasting valuable time with the student. This was a major concern to me because this was the first time I had rated her with 3 stars, all previous ratings had been for 4 stars. I rate the tutors based on how much effort and what the results of my daughter are and I felt that because she decided to spend less time with the student I had the right to rate her based off that. I understand that she needed to speak to me, but I was never aware that it was cutting into my daughters learning time. The following Sunday I received a very disrespectful call from this tutor, claiming that she was unsatisfied with her rating. A rating system is created so the tutor can acknowledge where their mistakes are and how to improve, not to engage in vengeful phone calls to all the clients who decide to rate them low based on their performance. A very interesting point that this tutor had to offer was regarding the apparently gargantuan commute that she had to endure, a previously discussed inconvenience which she accepted. She was constantly and aggressively claiming that she would not accept any rating lower than 5 stars, and how it was my daughter’s fault that there was no improvement. Another concern of mine is that this tutor decided to prioritize her reputation based on this rating system and dropped my daughter because of it claiming that she could easily find a replacement who would rate her better. Finally she ended the conversation by suggesting I tutor my daughter myself and not contract your services due to her learning disabilities. This was a very disrespectful and uncalled for suggestion; I felt much discriminated and would love to continue using this service if I am liberal to make my own decisions. My daughter is a very bright student and she does not deserve to be blamed for the lack of professionalism this tutor presents. I suggest that this community reevaluate the criteria each tutor must meet, and to prioritize the best interest of the child not the satisfaction of each tutor's ego.

Happy L. from San Jose, CA

Tina has done a great job and is very patient! We are very appreciative of all she has done.

Jeannie L. from Sunnyvale, CA

I would strongly recommend Tina to everyone. She is a great tutor, with excellent skills and can really meet my daughter's needs with a good plans. She is really open with ideas and suggestions to plan out activities for my daughter to improve her comprehension skills and maths. She has a busy schedule but she is really good with working along with our schedule. In general, she is patient, gentle, loving, with positive attitude, and encouraging.

Our family of four boys has worked with many tutors over the past couple of years and Tina's amazing success in one short session was astounding. Our 13 year old son, 7th grade, has an aversion to anything associated with school. Tina managed to grab his attention, teach quickly and efficiently, and in return he received a record high Spanish exam score.

Rhian K. from Sunnyvale, CA

We hired Tina to help our daughter in Algebra and Spanish. It was quite a blessing to find someone who could help in those two subjects. She is very patient and takes the time to explain each concept. My daughter has had trouble in the past but is getting A's in these subjects so far with Tina's help. Tina is always prompt and courteous of our family and home.

Susanna L. from Union City, CA

Tina is very accommodating and willing to go at my daughter's pace. I look forward to additional sessions with her.

Alex M. from San Jose, CA

Tina helped me improve my communication skill. I know English speaking will be a long term work, but I really look forward to studying with her.

Jinhee M. from San Jose, CA

She is kind and she has broad knowledge of various topics. Her class is very helpful to me to improve my English discussion skills.
