UCI Triple Major Graduate in Chemistry, Biology and Engineering Tutor

Educational Background and Career Ambitions: I've graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2013 as a triple major with Bachelor of Science degrees in (1) Biomedical Engineering, (2) Chemistry, (3) Biology, and a minor in Materials Science Engineering. I averaged 5-6 classes per quarter (11 weeks) and my college transcript consists of mostly As and Bs (will show for upon request for verification). I am currently pursuing my masters degree in biomedical engineering at UC...

physical science

One of my degrees from UCI was awarded by the school of physical sciences. I consider myself a well trained scientist of multiple disciplines. There is no doubt that I will ensure that my future clients/students are equipped with the elementary fundamentals to prepare them for success in science.

ecology

elementary math

For my college classes in biomedical engineering, physics, and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in elementary math--fractions, arithmetic, long division, multiplication, etc--to solve numerous problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

elementary science

piano

I've competed in the National Piano Guild Auditions since the year 2000 obtaining multiple first place top talent trophies. I have been playing piano since I was 9. Since 2008, I've been tutoring privately as a part time job while I was in college.

genetics

I have a biology degree from the University of California, Irvine. Genetics was one of the core classes, for which I received a B+. Furthermore, I took molecular and genetic engineering classes from my biomedical engineering curriculum, for which I received an A- . Upon request by the student, I will show my UCI transcript for verification.

MATLAB

As part of my college engineering curriculum at UCI, I took two different MATLAB courses--one for biomedical engineering applications and one for general MATLAB fundamentals--for which I obtained a B- and an A- in. In my upper division engineering courses, I have used MATLAB to assist me in solving all flavors of scientific problems such as spectral data processing and setting up linear algebraic system of equations for circuit analysis.

prealgebra

When I took honors prealgebra I in middle school, I received an A+. In my college classes in biomedical engineering, physics, and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in prealgebra to solve numerous problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

precalculus

I took honors precalculus in high school as a junior and received an A+. I've also received an A+ in my freshman year of calculus at UCI. In my upper division classes in biomedical engineering and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in both precalculus and calculus to solve real life problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

trigonometry

I took honors trigonometry in high school as a sophomore and received an A+. My highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations. In my college upper division classes in biomedical engineering and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in trigonometry to set up solutions for multiple problems.

writing

I can write clear and coherent essays with stylistic flare while enforcing a strong command of the English language. Throughout my educational career, I have received As in virtually all my English classes (both high school and college). I have plenty of sample papers from college classes and will share them for assessment of my abilities with potential students seeking help in writing/editing. I can teach potential students how to write both effectively and eloquently.

physics

geometry

I've received an A+ in high school honors geometry when I was a freshman. Throughout my physics classes at UCI--for which I've received virtually all As in--I've had to utilize multiple concepts and theorems from geometry to analyze many problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

grammar

Throughout my educational career, I have received As in virtually all my English classes (both high school and college). I have plenty of sample papers from college classes and will share them for assessment of my ability to adhere to proper grammar usage. Even as a science and engineering major, we are tasked with writing and documenting multiple technical reports. Consequently, my writing skills never deteriorated; if anything, they improved substantially from when I was in high school.

algebra 2

When I took honors Algebra II in high school as sophomore, I received an A+. In my college classes in biomedical engineering, physics, and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in algebra II to solve numerous problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

biology

calculus

I've received an A+ in my freshman year of calculus at UCI. In my upper division classes in biomedical engineering and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in calculus to solve real life problems, especially when differentiation and integration is involved. My training as an engineer has prompted me to become exceptionally "mathletic".

chemistry

algebra 1

When I took honors Algebra I in middle school, I received an A+. In my college classes in biomedical engineering, physics, and chemistry, I've continuously used the fundamentals I've learned in algebra to solve numerous problems. As an engineer, my highest level of math is multivariable calculus and partial differential equations.

Maria S. from Chino Hills, CA

This was our first time hiring a private tutor and we are very pleased and satisfied with Huylong's methodology of tutoring; his approach, style and patience. When he arrived at our home he was very professional and approachable. We first asked questions about his educational background and tutoring experience. After our questions were answered he got down to business! We used Huylong for 5 sessions. After 1 session our son improved his test grade. In the end our son passed his class one grade higher than before. He said he could not have done well without the assistance of Huylong. We highly recommend Huylong to anyone who is in need of tutoring in the field of Physics. Thank you Huylong!!

Cynthia L. from Irvine, CA

He is patient with my daughter. He provides confidence to help her recognize her own knowledge. He illustrate with examples using posted notes. He uses email to help my kid with homework in between lessons.

Jan K. from Irvine, CA

Huylong helped me design an outline for a cheatsheet for my final. He then taught me how to study from it to make max use of it during the exam.

Rhonda M. from Huntington Beach, CA

Huylong was excellent with my daughter and very knowledgable. He broke things down so she could understand them and she picked up on them quickly and understood it all. I know she is looking forward to working with him again!
