I have been working with Autistic children for several years now. I know how to engage them, gain their trust, and get them to do what I ask. Many of my children look forward to their lessons. One five year old, told his mother that the best part of Sunday is when he gets to spend time doing a lesson with me. This is an autistic child who has grown tremendously in the past year. To say his parents are happy is an understatement. I also recommend nutrition intervention, since I am Certified in Nutrition. I am very patient and find ways to engage them to learn, at their own pace. I am working with several Autistic children, ADD Adults, dyslexic adults and teenagers, and ADHD children.

GIAN BATTISTA D. from Yonkers, NY

I'm an Italian-American from Yonkers, New York who has had many years of experience in dealing with native Italians who for one reason or another found themselves situated either permanently or temporarily in the New York city region. My experience with them even includes an entire summer in 1981 working as an intern at the Italian Trade Commission on Park Ave in NYC. My experience with this tutor has decisively shown me that this is a flawless individual in her capacity as an Italian translator. Her most notable asset is her initiative, as she translated for me a two page document riddled with American idiomatic expressions in less than three days. On the fourth day, Lisa personally came to my house to assist me in putting the finishing touches on the final draft. Let me be clear here, no Italian in the NYC region with the established translator skills of a Lisa would have rendered in such a short period of time what she produced for me in terms of the quality of the translation or the personal attention she afforded me. For all you out there looking for an awesome Italian translator with reasonable prices, now you know where to go.

Charles F. from Buchanan, NY

From the first lesson, Lisa assessed my individual learning style. She continues to identify my weaknesses and strengths in order to focus on improving my skills. Each week she offers stimulating study guidelines and is always pleasant and patent.

Robin K. from Bethpage, NY

Lisa is very friendly and easy to communicate with, both on the phone and in person. After sitting with my son just once or twice, Lisa saw what problems he was having with Italian and was able to help him a lot. She always had lessons in Italian with her if my son did not have specific work that he needed to work on. And she was always able to accommodate us in getting over to our house eventhough she did not live close by. I recommender her for Italian lessons!

Marsell G. from Woodhaven, NY

Lisa has helped my son Joel in so many ways. I first decided to get Lisa because my son was about to fail Kindergarten and I needed help with his homework because he gave me such a hard time, but Lisa has so much patience and, most importantly, she makes homework time fun time for him, therefore making it easy for him to get his homework done. With Lisa's help my son made it to the first grade, got his homework done every night and started to recognize letters and sounds. Even his teacher notice the difference. She is also easy to reach at any time. Easy and pleasant to communicate with as well. She was worth every penny!

Joviana P. from Bronx, NY

Lisa B. was not only a very competent, efficient professional Spanish tutor, but she also interacts well with her student. She communicated good experiences in her travels (such as saving animals), which my son found interesting. My son felt at ease with Lisa and by the end of his lessons, he was reading, writing and understanding Spanish better than he did in school. My son looks forward to more tutoring from Lisa B.

Tony T. from Bronxville, NY

I hired Lisa for the SATs and as a high level SAT scorer (above 2000) I found the methods used by the teacher incredibly helpful. Through patient training, Lisa helped me increase my writing score in a short time. She was very patient and willing to work long hours with me to get the results I wanted. She is also a flexible tutor. Lisa would meet with me at times convenient for me. She also has a wide area of topics that she is comfortable with. Lisa is able to teach many topics and not simply SAT as I found out.

Loren L. from Armonk, NY

Seven months ago I engaged Lisa as a tutor for my wife and two children. Each assignment had separate and distinct requirements calling upon Lisa to provide academic, cultural and character building instruction. I was amazed by the success she had with each student. She was engaging when she needed to be. She brought interesting subject matter unrelated to the assignment which everyone enjoyed and gained knowledge and insight from. She was more than capable of keeping everyone on task which at times required a decided sternness, but never put off any pupil. I have never heard a word about canceling or ending her visits from anyone she has been working with. Lisa has more than demonstrated to me that she is capable of understanding precisely what my goals are for each student. She has challenged my strategies and direction at times, and her comments have been invaluable. For the most part we agree on how to best proceed and Lisa has understood and implemented my requests with enormous success. She never misses an appointment, and is punctual to a flaw, sometimes stays longer than she bills for. I honestly can recommend Lisa to anyone, she agrees to tutor without reservation or hesitation. She's great. We have become friends. Please feel free to contact me personally if you care to discuss my experience with Lisa further.

Marcela A. from Yonkers, NY

Lisa is a great tutor! She is very patient, responsible and helpful! She helped me with my English writing and I improved a lot. She teaches you techniques and easy ways to learn. Lisa works with the students one to one and this make is learning very easy! She is very knowledgeable in every subject and encourages you to go beyond limitations and to continue the hard work. I strongly recommend Lisa’s services as a tutor. You can even work with her online. She is a busy tutor, but very flexible.

Yurong C. from Little Neck, NY

Lisa really teaches well. She doesn't make the lessons boring, she uses interesting material and she helps me with my sentence structure, and using different words instead of using the same simple words.

Teyona S. from Yonkers, NY

Lisa is reliable and readily available whenever I have a question. She is very flexible and knowledgeable. Patience us a great quality that I attribute to my success with Lisa. She made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be in contact with Lisa in the near future.

Eve F. from Oakland Gardens, NY

My daughter Alexandra was a straight A - A+ student...except when it came to math! Her math grades would prohibit her from making honor roll even though her overall average was over a 92... because she couldn't get the 85 she needed in 6th grade. That's when we started her tutoring with Lisa. In the third marking period of her first year she finally got in the high eighties and made honor roll again. In 7th grade she started the year of with a 90 average in math...Lisa gave her the skills and confidence she needed to know, she can be a good math student.

Guoming Z. from Norwood, NJ

Lisa is a very nice and patient teacher with broad knowledge base. She teaches students not only the book knowledge but also the real life experience. One thing impressed us a lot was that she took Shane (our son) to a local garden and trained him how to observe the surrounding near you. Shane has learned a lot from her and we definitely think she is a good tutor.

C P. from Manhasset, NY

Lisa B has provided exceptional help in math tutoring for our son. Given her broad range of knowledge, we would feel comfortable in enlisting her support in any subject. Her warm and patient manner made it easy for our son to fully focus on his work.

Jamie O. from Bronx, NY

Lisa is an awesome tutor she has been tutoring my son for 2 years now and is now tutoring both my son and my daughter. She is very sweet and up beat. Lisa makes sure that that my kids understand all of the material and even gets them ready for more advance challenges. Lisa is great with children and has a lot of patience, I cant say enough positive things about her!!!

Liz T. from White Plains, NY

Lisa is an amazing tutor and more than a tutor, she is a fantastic coach. Lisa is encouraging and patient and has a strategic approach to her teaching. Lisa builds the foundations of learning a new subject by teaching the basic building blocks that are key to gaining understanding in any subject. Lisa also uses methods that help you practice what you have learned and apply it which is a very useful way to test what you are learning. Her methods are effective and she is very personable in her nature. Lisa adds very dynamic elements to her teaching like sharing history of a subject area and picture associations which are extremely effective and Fun! Lisa cares a great deal about her students and she makes a personal investment into the lives and learning of her students! Lisa is truly an amazing person!

Tenzin K. from Forest Hills, NY

Lisa is a great tutor. I am working on my critical reading skill for the October SAT. She has good understanding of SAT and comes with material that are prepared and helpful.

Taina B. from New York, NY

Our son, who is a high school senior, has been struggling with college applications - essays in particular. From the minute she sat down, Lisa was able to help him focus and develop his essays in the most patient and thoughtful way. We were quite surprised as to how much work was done in two hours with no complaints from our son. I would highly recommend Lisa, especially for very reluctant writers.

Guru B. from Pelham, NY

As a complete beginner with about 6 months of light Spanish learning behind me, I hired Lisa to help me create and deliver a business presentation in Spanish during my trip to South America (Argentina and Peru). After 16 sessions in less than 2 months, I'm very pleased with how the presentation has turned out, and how my confidence for delivering it has increased. Using her native knowledge of Spanish, and her broad interests and experience, Lisa helped me craft a presentation that is clear and simple to understand, even though it covers some fairly involved ideas. Thanks to her meticulous approach, we have refined this short presentation to use just the right words. Lisa also helped me to improve my pronunciation and general knowledge of Spanish. I leave on my trip tomorrow, and I look forward to using this presentation every chance I get. Thank you, Lisa!

Lisa Z. from Scarsdale, NY

I hired this tutor in late May early June 2012. I stressed how important it was that we take every advantage of the summer months since my son goes away to school. She managed to see my son once in six weeks. Even then, she attempted to postponed the session after having pick the time herself and having me arrange the entire day around her. She then hurried through because she wanted to get to White Plains before the lunch rush to handle personal business. She over billed and when I questioned her about it her reply was she had to account for every minute and she had taken a few minutes to speak to me. She also waited until she arrived to state what she needed to have with regard to past work and tests. I thought a better prepared tutor would have asked for that in advance, especially if you are going to charge for every minute. The next session, almost two weeks later, she calls twenty minutes after the set time and says she is one town over with an overheated car and wants me to come get her. She becomes very upset when I tell her I can't. I then inform her it seems things were not going to work out. She then leaves a very nasty message on my voice mail. I simply feel this tutor was just too overwhelmed and should not have taken my son on. The good; I thought she was a good Spanish tutor and so did my son, at least based on the one session. Unfortunate.

Nelson R. from Bronx, NY

We retained Lisa late in the school year to help our daughter prepare for finals. Our daughter was struggling in Earth Science and Math. Lisa was very patient and focused. She used supplemental materials to help explain difficult topics. Lisa proved to be extremely helpful. My daughter passed both her finals.

Marie L. from Stamford, CT

Lisa has been great with my daughter who is about to enter 1st grade. Lisa is extremely patient and as a result of the tutoring, I think my daughter will be ready for 1st grade. My daughter is finally catching up to other children her age and she actually looks forward to her tutoring sessions. We'll keep up with the tutoring through the school year!

Nancy M. from Yonkers, NY

Lisa has been working with my daughter since 12/2011. She works on reading, writing, spelling, and math. My daughter has shown some improvement and is always happy and proud of her self at the end of their session.

Jae Hoon L. from Hempstead, NY

I am an ESL student in a law school. I have wanted to reduce my accent. She has helped me a lot to reduce my accent.

Jennifer R. from White Plains, NY

It's only been 3 sessions with my 13 year old daughter and what a difference! I can't wait for my daughter to take her first quiz. I love Lisa she is very patient and explains things very well.

Pia B. from Scarsdale, NY

Lisa is a great tutor and a wonderful person to work with. She has been working with my son for two months now and my son likes her a lot. She is kind and patient and works well with him. My son has a little dyslexia so Lisa's expertise and skill helps him a lot to make progress with his writing and reading skills. We are very happy with Lisa's work and look forward to a long happy tutoring support with her.

Aleksandra K. from Bronx, NY

She is one of the most patient, caring, understanding tutors I ever had. I wish I had her back in high school and before. I have only had her 2 times already for a total of 4 or 5 hours. I think she is brilliant and kind. Very funny and insightful. She really does care about helping her students succeed. I want to thank you so much already for the help you have given me. See ya again soon.

David H. from Carle Place, NY

My wife is benefiting greatly from the tutoring sessions provided by Lisa. She has the ability to make the lesson interesting and fun, also exhibiting patience with the difficult task of teaching reading and writing. Both my wife and myself would strongly recommend employing Lisa to any prospective students wishing to improve in all facets of English speaking and comprehension.

William S. from Rye, NY

Lisa has been working with our son for the last 3 months - she is very patient with him and he has shown improvement in his schoolwork and his handwriting. Lisa is punctual and caring - we are enjoying working with her.

Maria G. from South Salem, NY

Lisa B. has worked with my son who is a freshman in high school. She has worked with him in two subjects, Earth Science and Algebra. Lisa is well prepared for her sessions. She has him do examples, provides my son with handouts and also makes recommendations for other resources to help him in both subjects. We are very pleased.

Cliff S. from Armonk, NY

Lisa is the best tutor in the world!!! We have hired many tutors for our children but none compare to Lisa. She is truly the greatest!!!

Raavi G. from Scarsdale, NY

Lisa is very good at identifying weakness and helping to build on them. She is very patient and innovative in her teaching methodology. Since she has started giving Spanish lessons to my son (in high school) his grades have considerably improved in a very short time and he has become more confident of his language skills. The issue I have found with her is that she is unaccommodating in her schedule. It is hard to find a reasonable time for classes and it is almost impossible to move classes because her days are packed. I was most disappointed when my son was late for the class and in spite of informing her, she charged me for a full lesson and left without teaching. I had to let her go at that point.

Saori A. from White Plains, NY

I feel that I finally found the right tutor to prepare me for the upcoming TOEFL test. After we talked only briefly, on the first day we met, she immediately spotted my weak points. She is very experienced and knowledgeable about the TOEFL test. She is also very patient, friendly and easy to work with. She gave me an assignment based on what areas I needed to strengthen. The TOEFL test requires very fast thinking and speaking skills. Even when I was working under pressure; speaking about my various personal experiences, I still enjoyed her lesson. I would like to keep training with her, because I am sure that I am in good hands.

Kozue M. from Riverside, CT

I took her lesson the other day. We chat with what did we during the past week before we start lesson. I think that she finds my weak point of English while we chat. She understands my weak point well, she teach me exactly. In addition, I enjoy taking her lessons because she is friendly.

Ann M. from Mamaroneck, NY

Lisa has only been working with my daughter for a few weeks, but I have been impressed with her enthusiasm, dedication and the way she has structured the lessons. It is hard for my daughter to stay focused when she is bored, but she always seems to be alert and engaged while working with Lisa. My daughter and Lisa share a love for animals, and Lisa has used this to bond with my daughter and keep up her interest level. Lisa is also a very caring person, and when she found out that I had terrible back pain, she went out of her way to bring me a natural remedy to try to ease the pain. Since school has not yet started, I have not had the opportunity to assess my daughter's progress, but I am confident that, as she continues to work with Lisa, I will see improvements with her reading and writing.

Maria S. from Mamaroneck, NY

I decided it to get a tutor because I was getting ready to take my GED math test and I only had two and half weeks to prepare. Lisa was the perfect tutor. She is organized, smart, nice and super patient. She worked so hard with me in every lesson and she always make sure that I understood everything. Lisa has many wonderful techniques for teaching. I'm just glad that I had the chance to get her as my tutor.

Olga O. from Bronx, NY

Lisa is very kind, patient, and attentive. My daughter looks forward to meeting with Lisa each week and is gaining the confidence she has been lacking in math due to Lisa's help!

Teyona S. from Bound Brook, NJ

Lisa is reliable and readily available whenever I have a question. She is very flexible and knowledgeable. Patience us a great quality that I attribute to my success with Lisa. She made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be in contact with Lisa in the near future.
