I have a Bachelor's degree in business, along with a Master's degree in adult education. Combined, these elements give me an insight as to how student's find the typical study methods incredibly boring! I try to implement techniques and strategies I have learned as a graduate student as well as a corporate trainer into my tutoring sessions. ADD/ADHD
My educational background includes a graduate degree in adult education and training. During my Master's program, I had the opportunity to take numerous courses which focused on the needs of learners who may be faced with challenges such as ADD/ADHD. These courses provided me with insight as to the methodologies that are best suited to assist these individuals with any challenges they may be facing in their learning environment. The tutoring methods I will use to only increase the learning/studying skills of students with ADD/ADHD include: -help them become better organized by creating assignment logs and homework schedules to fit their needs -combine basic comprehensive study/learning skills with technology so that students do not become bored with how they are being tutored -provide frequent and specific praise regarding the students success in all facets of their learning/studying skills In the past I have substituted in many classrooms where students dealing with ADD/ADHA have been students. It was a pleasure to work with them as a team and discover which areas they needed assistance with and come together to create a learning plan that best suited their needs.
