Before becoming a home schooling parent, I tutored for over four years and prior to that was a classroom teacher and substitute teacher. I have worked as a substitute teacher and tutor in elementary grades. I hold a Florida educators certificate in Exceptional Student Education grades Kindergarten through 12th. Also, I have taught homeschool co-op classes for elementary students and am homeschooling my own elementary-aged son.

I have training at the university level in teaching English Language Learners (ELLs). I also passed the subject area test for ESOL educator certification in the state of Florida. I have experience working with deaf students using ASL as a first language.
