I am an educator by day and a theatre artist by night. I went to Iowa State University, where I earned my B.A. in Performing Arts - Acting & Directing. I spent the next 7 years traveling all around the United States working for a variety of theatre companies. In 2012, I made the decision to go to Graduate School as a next step toward my goal of teaching. I graduated with my M.F.A. in Theatre Arts. I taught Introduction to Theatre for the Non-Major which included basic history, theatre terms, plays, and playwrights. I taught Play Structure and Analysis 1 which was a broad introduction to Aristotle; David Ball; Eugene Scribe; Joseph Campbell. Understanding a depth of terms in the plays text and examining techniques applied for writing the play. I have experience in Stage Management; Directing; Lighting Design from my educational background but also 12 years of working in the theatre industry.
