Master's level Art Therapist, Creativity, Art, Educator, All ages

I absolutely love facilitating learning and creativity with children (and adults) of all ages and abilities. I believe that the first step is to lower stress and make learning fun. I use active, hands-on learning to help students achieve break-throughs and to raise the bar in their confidence and capacity to learn. ADD/ADHD

I have a Master's degree in Art Therapy since 1994 with extensive experience with children with the entire range of emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. My first job was full-time in a school for kids with SED in an alternative school, and I've continued to consult with principals, teachers and families to meet the needs of kids with learning, attention, and sensory issues.

Aspergers

As a child and family therapist, I actually have experience with all developmental issues and disorders. In addition to child and family therapy, I had a child with developmental differences including severe sensory issues and food allergies, and learned much working with other professionals as well that served him. I also coordinated a special program for about 5 years with mothers and children/babies in addiction recovery shelters, and collaborated with the other professionals on my team such as Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Cranial-Sacral Pediatric Therapists and other Art Therapists on a highly specialized team with highly skilled clinicians as part of an innovative grant-funded program. I've also contracted with group residency facilities to coach staff in working with clients with a variety of problems including autism and Aspergers. In addition to special Art Therapy skills, I also do play therapy, and sand play therapy.
