Patient & Knowledgeable School Counselor to Help with Study Skills

My passion for working as an educator comes from my own life-long love of learning. I began to excel in school when I discovered that I could learn for my own enjoyment and not because someone was making me. ADD/ADHD

I am a licensed counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I have 5+ years experience in working in Special Education schools. Many of my students have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, along with other diagnoses. I have experience helping students break down assignments into smaller pieces so that they can better focus on the task at hand. In helping students, I have provided frequent check-ins to help them remain focused and moving through the materials. These check-ins also allow me to structure breaks with the students so that they can remain focused for longer periods of time.

Aspergers

I am a licensed counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I have 5+ years experience in working in Special Education schools. Many of my students have been diagnosed with on the Asperger's Spectrum. In my working with these students, I have been able to reframe assignments so that students can better understand the words being used and what is being asked of them. Much of my work with these students begins with the basic vocabulary and builds from there, layering the lessons.

Jessica has been helping my college-age daughter with some organizational and study skills. She's clearly experienced with ADD issues and has keen insight to areas of weakness. She is on time, knows where to focus her attention, provides regular feedback and is a calm, consistent presence. It is an added bonus that she is able to provide college-level tutoring in certain subjects.
