Foreign Language, English and Politico-Economic Expert

I am an accomplished tutor with more than five years of volunteer and professional tutoring experience in a variety of subjects. My strongest suit is language acquisition, having studied Spanish, Latin, German, Italian, Japanese, Scottish and Irish. I hold a BA in Japanese, continued at the graduate level, and am currently studying for the JLPT N1. I lived in Japan for a year on study abroad, with a host family and on my own, so I've got a pretty good grasp of the culture too. A third-genera...

Aspergers

I worked as a substitute teacher and para-professional in Special Education classrooms at the K-12 and post-secondary levels for several years. I also tutored developmentally disabled college students, mostly those with autism spectrum disorders, for one year at College Living Experience in Monterey, California. I am well acquainted with Asperger's, its symptoms and treatments, and have worked with many people who have Asperger's syndrome.

autism

I worked for several years as a substitute teacher and para-professional in K-12 and post-secondary Special Education classrooms. I have interacted with autistic students of all levels, and am familiar with the symptoms and treatments for autism. As a tutor I have worked with developmentally disabled college students, primarily those with autism. I am confident in my abilities tutoring autistic students as well as those studying autism.

Greg very patiently walked me through beginning Photoshop in CS2. We worked for several hours with him directing me while I worked on my first project, which turned out very well! He didn't just show me what to do. He showed me, then worked with me so that I could do it myself and retain the knowledge better.

Mr. M did an excellent job teaching me the basics of Japanese. He clearly has a mastery of the language and can adapt to all skill levels (as I have had almost no experience with learning Japanese and just wanted to learn on a whim). He constructed an excellent learning plan based on what I wanted to take away from our time together and was very patient with me. I look forward to further lessons and highly recommend him.

Greg is an awesome tutor. He is tutoring my high schooler in Japanese. My son enjoys the lessons, does the homework, and looks forward to learning. A great teacher will inspire minds to learn, and Greg does that with his students.

Amy B. from Sykesville, MD

Greg goes out of his way to put us on his schedule, despite conflicting schedules on some weeks. He is easy to reach by Email and cell phone and always responds within a timely manner. Very reliable. My son really enjoys his lessons. Not only is he learning the grammar and vocabulary of Japanese, but the cultural norms of Japan as well. From parent and student, we highly recommend Greg as a tutor.

Greg tutors my 8 year old son in Math and Language Arts. He is very patient, kind and knowledgeable. Since my son began his lessons, his grade in both subjects has increased. I am very pleased with the work we received from Greg. He is very easy to communicate with and my son will be meeting with him throughout the remainder of the school year.
