I'm a licensed School Counselor for grades K-12. As such, I love working with students of all ages. Though I do not hold teacher certification, I have taken master's level education courses. autism
I have a master's degree in Counselor Education. In my degree, I've taken specific courses related to Autism. Much of working with students who are Autistic is helping to build behavioral supports, both self regulated and monitored by adults. These students often struggle with social situations- something that counselors excel at assisting with. I would be able to not only work with students who have autism, but also the families who love them. I have two years experience working in a special education classroom as a Paraprofessional working with children who had autism.

Aspergers
I have a master's degree in Counselor Education. In my degree, I'd taken specific courses related to Aspergers (now just refered to as being on the Autism spectrum) and other learning disabilities. Much of working with students who have Aspergers is helping to build social supports, both self regulated and monitored by adults. Students who fall on the spectrum often have social difficulties- something that counselors are great at addressing, but students with Aspergers tend to be higher functioning. I have worked with an Aspergers' student for 2 years in a special education classroom.
ADD/ADHD
