I have been an educator for over 25 years. I hold a Master in Special Education Degree from Eastern Michigan University with a focus on Learning Disabilities and have received specialized training in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading instruction through the Michigan Dyslexia Institute. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education: Learning Disabilities with courses that covered ADD/ADHD teaching and management techniques. I have a certification from Michigan for Behavior Disorders as well. I taught in self contained classroom for special needs children for 13 years and many of my students had this diagnosis. In addition, I have a 14 year old son who has been diagnosed with ADHD.

Kristin has been a wonderful help to my seven year old grandson who has struggled in first grade with reading. She tailors her approach to his level and is full of positive reassurance and feed back to him. Building interest and self esteem in a child who has had a struggle is a remarkable feat in itself. Kristin is very engaging with my grandson as well as his parents. At the end of each session she gives them any updates as to how she views things are going and any suggestions she may have. She is an excellent tutor!
