In college, I was an English major and learned extensively about composition, grammar, sentence construction, vocabulary, and the art of composing clear sentences and essays. I journal on a regular basis and practice creative writing as a hobby. I have served as a proofreader and editor for a post-doctoral student who was writing a large number of papers. In my professional employment as a librarian and as a regional account manager, I was responsible for creating reports and using proper and clear English in written communication with other staff and with customers. I am a published book reviewer for Library Journal. In my home office, a collegiate dictionary is beside my computer desk and a Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language 2nd ed is within a few steps.
