Today was my first lesson with Laurie K. I believe this review will not do her justice as there is much potential in this tutor/student relationship. Today was assessment day. I feel more confident to know where my strengths and weaknesses are and to build on them for the future. The assessment was a 50 question online quiz which was right at my level. It was immediately graded. Laurie went over not just what was incorrect, but the ones I guessed correctly as well. I learned just from the mistakes I made. I asked questions, she had the answers. This quiz gave a good bases for some instruction as well. I am very pleased by this tool. I gave her 4 stars because it was a very good beginning and excellent 5 star lessons, I sense, will be had in the future. Patient, Considerate, Timely, Organized, Knowledgeable, Competent and Very Likeable are all my first impressions from Laurie K. Thank you Laurie, I am looking forward to my next instruction. Review # 2 a month later: I am an older student that has returned to school. After trying Basic French class and being unsatisfied with the level of progress, as well as being confused and disheartened. I decided to seeked Mme Laurie's instruction. After one lesson I was confident in her ability to ready myself for College French. I dropped Basic French 101 after 6 weeks into the course and I wished I did so sooner. I can't believe it has been a month since I started with her. I have progressed so much further than 6 weeks in a 2.5 hour twice a week class and far more homework than Mme Laurie provides. She provides just the right amount, not overwhelming but enough to solidify what I learned in the tutoring session. Mme Laurie is a delight. Her eyes sparkle when she teaches and always greets me with a smile. I look forward to my instruction, we always laugh. Speaking French does not feel unattainable. It really feels easy with her leading the way. Mme Laurie always makes sure I am speaking, writing and listening. Plenty of quizzes and end of Chapter tests which I asked for.
