Aspergers
I am a certified teacher in the area of special education. In addition, I have had several experiences of working with individuals with aspergers in student teaching and teaching experiences. I have worked with individuals who needed intense guidance and support as well as with students who needed only some guidance and support. I understand the unique way an individual with aspergers learns and communicates, therefore, I am patient and caring towards those needs. I am aware of effective strategies to use with this population such as routine, breaks, choice, and rewards for positive behavior. All in all, I feel that my experiences with a variety of different cases of aspergers has shaped my ability to teach this population to meet their unique learning needs.
