As a graduate of a top tier university with 10+ years of teaching experience, I specialize in providing one on one tutoring to students of all grade levels. I tailor my teaching method based on each individual. I target need for improvement areas and provide a motivational support structure so that students can progress positively. As a classroom teacher in both Charter and Public schools, I have worked for a number of programs to increase scores and bring students up to grade level. These include, but are not limited to: MGI (Middle Grades Initiative), NY Gear Up, Discovery, America Reads, Americorps, ETS (Educational Talent Search), and the Research Foundation of CUNY. I enjoy teaching others and have worked with students with special needs and disabilities through many of these programs. I encourage creativity and critical thinking amongst my students, and prefer a "think outside of the box" approach. As a former SAT instructor at Kaplan, along with other test prep agencies, I've effectively prepared students for exams such as the Regents, SHSAT, SAT, ASVAB, and GRE.
