I am a commissioned composer of complex, atonal music. My works have been performed at Lincoln Center as well as at colleges, universities, conferences and music festivals in the US and Canada. I have always been a natural for teaching ESL. Even when I was in Elementary School, my sixth grade teacher requested that I tutor a fellow classmate newly arrived from Cuba. I loved helping her and she improved! I even wrote her a song! I always assist my fiends for whom English is their second language. For example, I often help my Japanese colleague prepare materials for publication and also help her with her English pronunciation and grammar. I also coached a Japanese TV star for the performance of an opera, her first performance in English!

I hold a NY State Teacher's Certificate in French (K-12). I studied French intensively at university. My major was French Culture. I studied both Medieval and modern French and wrote my Senior Thesis in French.

As a teacher in the NYC Public Elementary Schools, I was required to get certified in the teaching of reading. I did an independent study course and was granted the required 6 credits in the teaching of reading. I have NYC Certification in this subject.

I have had a half-dozen wonderful theory instructors, and Eva is right up there! She will listen to you and then formulate a plan. She will explain the hows and whys of the plan and still engage you in the decisions made, which are always open for change.
