I have taught bilingual students and also taught English as a second language. Most of the students that I worked with and am working with now speak Spanish. I need to be able to communicate with them in both languages, both English and Spanish. I have also taught Spanish to students in high school on a one-to-one basis as a tutor. I have studied several languages and have the requisite skills to communicate in another language.

Catherine was a nice person. My son did not feel he got a lot out of the tutoring session that he could not have accomplished on his own.

My daughter has taken the global regents 3 times in the past and hasn't had luck in passing this exam, so I decided to reach out for a tutor. Searching the reviews, I came across Catherine K., who I thought met all the guidelines for teaching her this subject. I started 2 months in advance meeting once a week for an hour maybe two. I feel that Catherine should have informed me earlier that my daughter was struggling with the vocabulary words, not to be told after she failed the exam. This should have been spoken about earlier, so I have to say that I was disappointed for the lack of communication and also for the very low grade my daughter received on the exam. The first grade was a 60 and the second was a 58. She got a 53 with Catherine K. being her tutor. She is now working with her school and seeking the help she needs to pass this regents exam.

Catherine was a very understanding and has the patience to understand the matter at hand. She helped my daughter prepare for the SATs. She worked around my daughter's tough scheduling which was important to me. She was very flexible and easy to get in touch with. I highly recommend Catherine for tutoring needs!

Cathy is very pleasant, she has a veteran's capability and skill that got right down to the matter at hand. I can appreciate how quickly she understood the problem with my 2nd grade struggling reader. She also was able to give me suggestions as to what I should try to follow up with helping my daughter.
