I have taught a diverse population of students, grades six through twelve, for the last 26 years. Most of my career was spent in an inner city Middle school in the Bronx where I worked with Honors students, remedial students, and special needs students. Irene has been tutoring our son in reading and writing. Our son has some learning issues associated with Asperger's Syndrome and is home-schooled. He is currently at the middle-school level. We asked Irene to see our son regularly to address the reading/writing component of his education. We have been very pleased with Irene's services. Irene is very competent and professional. Her lessons are organized and carefully tailored to our son's needs. She carefully selects reading assignments, works through reading comprehension exercises with him, and has been helping our son develop his writing skills with step-by-step writing lessons. Irene has also been very patient and caring toward our son during each lesson. We have already seen our son's progress. Moreover, he has told us that he enjoys each lesson with Irene, and seems to be more motivated to do his reading/writing assignments.
