Jean

Upbeat Tutor of Many Good Things!

I love teaching high school, college, and adult students! My students consider me to be organized, upbeat, humorous, and creative. Learning tough subjects does not have to be a grind or scary. My students can achieve lots of small victories at every session and I am ready with positive and constructive feedback. I enjoy getting to know each student and assessing his/her learning style, so that together, we can develop achievable goals and, hopefully have some fun amidst the hard work. I have...

ADD/ADHD

ADD/ADHD isn't "exotic" any more. The diagnosis isn't just limited to that extra-busy little boy in the first row. Diagnosed or not, many of us struggle all day, every day, to keep focused, to keep organized, and accomplish something. The good news is that society understands ADD/ADHD so much better these days. An abundance of practical, successful strategies for children, teens and adults is available everywhere. How to make those strategies work for you? I would start by having you explain where you struggle most in your studies: Focus? Organization? Starting? Finishing? Concentrating? I know these frustrations firsthand, but I have had success in (mostly)conquering them. Together we will set some specific goals so we can see where you've made progress. In my teaching, I always try to build in the solutions that have worked for me, and add other techniques specific to your needs. You will discover that it doesn't need to be so frustrating. We can do it!

I have had many tutors for my daughter but none as impressive as Jean. She sensed my daughter's apprehension right away and instantly knew how to connect with her. My daughter is actually looking forward to their next session.
