There are a LOT of tutors on here, and they all seem super smart. In fact, they are! I am also smart, but I took a different path than most of the tutors here. I struggled through school. I'd lose attention in class, forget to hand in homework, and was very uncomfortable asking questions (lest the teachers find out how little I've paid attention!)
