I really like this tutor. I was very anxious about learning Russian again and it has kept me from continuing my conversational Russian with other Russian speakers. Marina and I have met for three sessions so far, and it has been a good experience. I felt comfortable with Marina from the get-go. She is quite patient with me and my mistakes, but she is also good at making sure I say and write things correctly. She creates a laid-back atmosphere that makes me feel free to talk, make mistakes, learn from my mistakes and improve. Also, at the first session, she asked me what I was hoping to get out of tutoring, which I thought was a great question. Since I'm at an intermediate level, she has tailored the sessions to help me develop more useful Russian skills that relate to my life and goals, rather than simply have me repeat random phrases and memorize unrelated vocab from a book. At each session, she has a lesson idea, and we work together on homework from the previous week. I feel like I've improved already. I'm looking forward to working with her more.
