Nathan

I tutor math, science, physics, algebra and a few other things.

I have taught science and math for the Memphis city schools for approximately four years. I have taught physics labs at the University of Memphis and at the University of Mississippi. I love to teach. I think that the best way to tutor is a laid-back approach. I would be happy to tutor all age groups. The approach that I would use to tutor is the all out approach. What I mean by this is that we will use every means that the student has at their disposal. We could use their lecture notes, the...

Praxis

I have taken the Praxis and passed it. I am currently certified to teach physics 7-12. I have four years' teaching experience, where I have taught math and science. I have a BS and MS in physics. I have one year of courses leading to a PHD in leadership. I have applied to the engineering department at Memphis and been accepted in the PHD program in Electrical Engineering.

linear algebra

Linear algebra can be quite tedious, so we just need to take our time and do it. It involves matrix addition and subtraction, inverse matrices, determinants, elementary row reduction, Crammer's rule and other things. This a basic course requirement for math and computer science majors. I have taken matrix theory, liner algebra at the junior level, math physics at the undergraduate level where we did matrices as well as math physics at the graduate level where we did matrices.

logic

I specialize in modern symbolic logic. Logic is the representation of words and propositions in terms of symbols then you preform certain allowed operations on the symbols to determine whether a certain conclusion is true or false. Furthermore it is also possible to write truth tables for logical expressions. In order to do programming modern symbolic logic had to be invented. I have taken elementary logic as well as intermediate logic and have taken Fortrain where we used it as well as a digital technology courses where we wrote logic statements then reduced them then symbolized them using discrete components.

differential equations

I specialize in solving first order and second order linear differential equations and Laplace transforms. For example a method to solve first order is separation of variable. Furthermore it is possible to solve higher order equations but this is highly theoretical. I have taken differential equations in college as well as calculus 1, 2, and 3 as well as a technology course where we had a treatment of differential equations and numerous physics courses where we have applied differential equations.
