Kate is exceptional as a tutor, particularly as a Russian tutor! She is very well credentialed, has excellent teaching skills, and is structured and systematic in teaching a foreign language. She knows her stuff, both the technical (i.e. grammar) and the use of the language. She thoughtfully has taken me through a building process to not only understand the Russian words and grammar, but also the basic logic of the language. She is very effective in keeping the learning process moving forward at a digestible rate. In addition to her teaching skills, Kate brings knowledge of the Russian culture and as a tutor is able to add background and context which enhances the learning process. This attribute is important in that it brings the learning process more to real life. Lastly, Kate has the patience and persistence to be an effective teacher. Kate is by far one of the best tutors I've had. She gets straight to the point and teaches me the material in a fun and very understanding way. She does that by using videos, worksheets, and other tools. She always assigns homework, which is a huge pleasure for me to do since it helps me expand my vocabulary and practice the spelling and grammar rules first hand. Kate has done a wonderful job balancing basic conversations and fun exercises with some of the more difficult grammatical elements.
