I completed a Master of Science degree in biology and a Master of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, and graduated with a GPA of 3.8. I have been fortunate to teach a wide variety of subjects at many different grade levels over the past 28 years before retiring. I am approved to tutor ACT science via WyzAnt. I have taught a variety of science concepts for over 20 years. A large part of my teaching methodology is to teach students how to think, and not just memorize facts. Success on the science portion of the ACT is dependent on being able to think, as well as being able to interpret information. I enjoy seeing students become more confident when they see how well they can think through a problem.

When I worked as an interim instructor at Stephen F. Austin State University, I taught genetics concepts as part of the general biology course offered there. In addition, I have a high school biology teaching certification, and the biology curriculum includes numerous genetics concepts.
