Aspergers

I am obtaining my Master's degree in early childhood special education. My younger cousin was diagnosed with Aspergers a few years ago, as were some of my close family friends. over the years, I have learned specific techniques to support and encourage them in times of anxiety and stress. My cousin struggled for a time with motivation toward school, but through various conversations and approaches, he is now on track and doing extremely well! It's so great to see.

ADD/ADHD

Obtaining my Master's degree in early childhood special education. I have worked with a handful of students with ADD and approach each from an individual basis according to their needs, skills and challenges. I've worked with various coping skills and methods in order to increase concentration and meet the students where they are. I believe strongly in working with each child's strengths and comfort levels so I do not expect all kids to sit completely still all the time. Some students learn better when they are allowed to wiggle around a bit or lay on their stomach while they work. Working with children with attention issues is a constant learning process and keeps me on my toes. I love the enthusiasm found while doing so.
