Went over SAT material and my daughter said he is very easy to follow. She was happy that he taught her a few "tricks" to remember solving certain equations. My son had 11 sessions with Mark. He worked hard trying to figure out what my son's specific needs were in the area of writing. However neither of us had a firm grasp of what his needs truly were. Giving some kind of pre assessment to determine specific needs would save time, I think. I do think that Mark did well with tutoring my son on PSAT preparations. They went over many examples and discussed how the test is written and what to look for when reading the questions. My husband and I appreciate the time and effort put in by Mark to work with my son and help him. Mark genuinely cared about how he was feeling and what he was thinking about the tutoring sessions. Mark was consistent and his sessions helped our daughter to realize that she had both the knowledge and understanding of the material to succeed. Her classroom experience had been dismal until he began tutoring her. His methods included many strategies for problem solving which allowed her to fill in the many missing pieces in her understanding.
