Vidya

Math Educator for 15 years

I have taught math for the past 15 years at an all-girls, Catholic high school, and currently teach at a co-ed independent school in DC. I have absolutely loved being a teacher in a subject that most students shy away from and completely understand that some students need a one-on-one approach to help them understand concepts that they cannot easily grasp in a classroom setting. I understand that students need to feel comfortable to learn math, and they also need to trust their teacher. I ... Read more

Master's Math tutor SAT specialty

Thank you to all my students, for continually allowing me to enhance your mathematics experience, and for rating me 5 out of 5 stars every time! I've had many math professors throughout undergrad and graduate school and I've found that, although they all know what they're talking about and are all very intelligent, what makes a math teacher great is understanding that not everyone understands things the same way he/she does. Throughout my years tutoring all levels of mathematics, I have dev... Read more

Having trouble with math? I'll sum it up for you!

I took the SAT in 10th grade and received an overall score of a 1400. Of that 1400, 780 points came from the math section alone. Of a section that has a maximum possible points of 800, it would be difficult yet I believe possible for me to improve on that score. At the time of taking the test I had yet to fully master, as I have now, the more difficult geometry questions. Read more
