The life of a Math teacher is to give you problems.
Hi, I’m Alex! I’m a professional mathematics tutor in the New York City area. I have almost three years experience tutoring professionally, and another 4 years tutoring while I was in college. I have assisted students of all levels to achieve academic success. I genuinely enjoy mathematics and I love the "A-ha!" moments in students when they finally understand something for the first time, it's what makes me love this job. I chose to specialize in mathematics because most students who choo... Read more

Math, Science Tutor
I am presently tutoring a student with Aspergers syndrome. I have been working with this student for two tear as a WyzAnt tutor. It is very satisfying. I had to figure out the rules the student worked by, because they are important to him. I didn't try to change his behavior, unless it was unacceptable. I find it is important not to get the student upset as he can become very anxious. He has very few strategies for dealing with anxiety. The more anxious the student becomes the more withdrawn he is lightly to get and will not process the content. It can take time to set up the study-space. T Read more

10+ Years Advanced Physics/Math Education and Problem Solving Skills
I get what it's like to be confused and frustrated at not being able to figure something out. To go to lectures and have no clue what the professor is talking about. You go to office hours and it still doesn't help. Part of my drive to teach grew out of witnessing this frustration and seeing teachers and professors who either didn't care to put effort into teaching or were too smart to talk to you in a way you could grasp. Learning is an individual process and there's no one size fits all... Read more
